According to the 2013 publication of Changing Course: Ten Years of Tracking Online in the United States by Dr. Eliane Allen and Dr. Jeff Seaman:
- 69% of cheif academic leaders say online learning is critical to long-term strategy
- 77% of academic leaders rated learning outcomes in online education as the same or superior to those in face-to-face.
- 32% of all students are taking at least one online course.
